What Is Proof-of-Inference?

Proof-of-inference is the foundational concept behind InferTrust™ (Patent Pending). It is a cryptographic mechanism that creates a tamper-evident record of an AI decision at the exact moment the model produces its output,before any downstream system can process, transform, or alter the result.

How It Works

When an AI model completes inference, InferTrust™ captures the complete decision context including the input data, model version, configuration parameters, confidence scores,and output. This context is hashed using SHA-256, timestamped,and digitally signed using cryptographic keys isolated from the application layer. The result is a sealed record that:

• Proves authenticity: the record was created at inference time, not reconstructed later
• Detects tampering: any modification invalidates the cryptographic signature
• Establishes timing: the trusted timestamp proves when the decision was made
• Links to the model: the record identifies exactly which model version produced the output

Why It Matters
