What IT needs to do to connect Microsoft 365 for employee approved contact discovery: one application registration, about fifteen minutes, no infrastructure.
Contact discovery tools that touch mailboxes often sound like a large IT project. With a hosted, approval-based design, the work is small. For Microsoft 365, IT registers the application in the company's tenant once, in about fifteen minutes, and renews its secret every one to two years.
Once the application is registered, each employee connects their own mailbox on Microsoft's own consent screen. Unaided, that takes under two minutes. Each employee can revoke access at any time without asking anyone, which keeps the employee in control of their own data.
The connection uses credentials the customer owns and can revoke. If the company ever wants to stop, it removes the registration, and access ends for everyone at once.
Google Workspace mailboxes connect the same way, each with credentials the customer owns. Companies running both can connect both.
Your administrator decides what may be read, what is excluded and how long anything is kept, on one screen with no code and no ticket. The safest setting is the default for every one of them.
