How InferTrust™ integrates with EHR platforms like Epic, Cerner, and MEDITECH to capture AI decision records without disrupting clinical workflows.
InferTrust™ Clinical (Patent Pending) integrates with major EHR platforms through standard healthcare interoperability protocols and vendor-specific APIs. The integration operates at the inference boundary, capturing AI decision events as they occur within clinical workflows without introducing latency or changing the clinician experience.
InferTrust™ supports HL7 FHIR-based integration for modern EHR platforms, HL7 v2 message interception for legacy systems, direct API integration with EHR vendor marketplaces (Epic App Orchard, Cerner Open, MEDITECH Expanse), and webhook-based event capture for third-party clinical AI tools that operate alongside the EHR.
When an AI-assisted clinical tool produces output within the EHR workflow, InferTrust™ captures the decision event at the inference boundary. The EHR context (encounter ID, ordering provider, clinical context flags) is included in the decision record metadata without storing protected health information in the decision chain itself. The Input Feature Hash proves what data the model evaluated without duplicating PHI.
InferTrust™ can be deployed as a standalone service within the health system's infrastructure, embedded within an EHR vendor's platform under OEM license, or operated as a cloud service with secure connectivity to the clinical environment. The deployment model is selected based on the health system's IT architecture, security requirements, and regulatory constraints.
